The Light Registry Gallery located on 429 Main St,
Greenport, New York is home to the varied works of Gary
Bartoloni.
Gary decided on this name , The Light Registry, because
photography in all its forms is literally the registration
of light and also as a repository of past and hopefully
many future works.
These images are a small sample of the range of Gary's work
which is now focusing on the sea and environs of eastern
Long Island and the "hidden places" which have evaded
recent and rampant development.
Gary's work spans the formats of film from 35mm to 11x14
inches..he feels that each has its inherent "flavor" and
tries to use the film to suit the image.
He is still an advocate of traditional photography using
film, which he feels has the greatest range of true
resolution. Many images are later scanned and printed by
inkjet or by traditional photographic techniques enlarged
or as a contact on silver paper, then toned as sepia or
untoned as black & white.
Gary has recently launched a new site
"www.redballoonworld.com", in which he incorporates a red
ballon and its perceived whimsical freedom into some of his
images..please take a look.
Prints can be ordered to size from 8x10 inches to 5x12 feet
with various mounting and framing options..or unmounted and
unframed.
